About SCALS
South Central Adult Learning Society is a non-profit organization that offers informal learning opportunities that positively impact the day-to-day lives of adults. Volunteer tutors provide one-to-one support for reading, writing, basic computer skills and English language learning. Volunteers meet with adult learners on an ongoing basis to give the additional support they need to reach their learning and life goals.

About Our Volunteers
Our successful volunteers reflect a broad range of people, most are not teachers or educators. They are everyday people with an abundance of life experience and a passion for helping people.

With the help of our volunteers, we can continue to grow our grassroots initiatives that help adults reach their learning goals and gain the confidence they need to feel successful in their day-to-day lives.
